Enjoying the Vacation House

Today was our first full day at our vacation home. We're staying at a place called Water's Edge at Seacrest Beach, which is very near where we stayed last year. But we are in a much bigger house this year, as we are accommodating eight adults and four kids. We are very near Rosemary Beach, which has a couple playgrounds. This morning Meghan and I took the kids to one of them. It was one of those old-school wood ones. It didn't have a slide, which was odd, but it had swings, which the girls loved. And instead of a modern rubberized floor, it had wood chips, just like playground floors had when I was a kid. Joshua had endless fun with that, repeatedly filling and emptying a water bottle with the chips.

Later in the day we hit the pool. Our house has a great pool on the property, so we don't have to share it with anyone else. It's heated, it has colorful lights at night, and it even has a little waterfall, which had just enough space for you to sneak behind.

For dinner, Ron grilled us steaks. We all ate together, and it's really nice that our house is so big to allow for that.

Before bed, Ron spent some time with Hannah, both reading books and doing one of their new favorite activities: fistbumps.
