Serve Day and a Date Night

This morning we participated in "All Church Serve Day" at our church. There aren't all that many opportunities to serve that can support three preschoolers so we made prayer boxes and cards for women at the KC Rescue Mission. Although they can probably get by just fine without the prayer boxes, hopefully they provide some encouragement and they also brighten their day since many of these women have children of their own that they cannot currently live with.

Later in the day, Jason and I had a date night. We went to dinner with our friends, the Smiths. We went to Pot Pie, which I have wanted to try for a long time and never had and it was super good. Probably the best chicken I have ever had. And we hadn't seen the Smiths in forever, so it was nice to catch up with them.

After dinner, Jason and I stopped by The Other Place to have a few drinks and (because I totally love him and it is the actual World Series and not just an ordinary game) watch the game for awhile. Unfortunately the game wasn't really worth watching since the Royals lost 11-4, but we still had a fun date night anyway.

  1. I like how the people behind you are also smiling for your date night picture :)
