Today I decided we should have dinner outside to enjoy fall. Of course, this time of year it is dark by then, particularly because Joshua has Awana on Sunday so we don't eat until later. Jason grilled hotdogs and we had apple cider too.
We really haven't eaten outside much this year. I am not sure why. We got out of the habit because it was such a pain when the kids needed high chairs, but no one really needs one now so it is easy. Well, easy except for the fact we only have four chairs. It works for now because Hannah and Clara can fit in the same chair, but we'll have to add a chair for next year.
We had s'mores for dessert. I think everyone enjoyed them, but no one more than Hannah. She was like, "Why has no one told me about this before?"
After dinner, the kids got to play outside, which they were super excited about because they very rarely are allowed to play outside in the dark. First we did the rockets that Joshua got for his birthday, which we did not get good pictures of, but everyone loved. And then we played with some glowing spiders, which they had a lot of fun with.
It was a fun dinner. I definitely want to eat outside more as long as the weather is nice.
