Joshua used to be pretty fearless, but as a preschooler he has developed some fears. I feel this is age-appropriate and healthy and we actually want him to be scared enough of heights not to jump off or scared enough of hot ovens to not touch them and things like that. One of the things he is now scared of is spiders. And again, we prefer him to be slightly afraid of them so that he doesn't touch a brown recluse or something. Today he saw a spider on our floor and he was afraid. His response to that was to go get his toy Spider-Man to go defeat this scary spider. We thought that was so cute that he assumed Spider-Man would be the best way to handle a spider. Clara and Hannah were very interested too and Jason later helped them put the spider outside.
