15th Percentile!

Today I took Clara to her 30-month pediatrician visit. It went well. She has grown well over the past year, particularly when it comes to height. Although she is still in the 0% for weight, she is now in the 15% for height, which is totally normal and non-concerning. We have decided to discontinue her medications and also work to wean her off her bright beginnings, with the goal being her calories coming from normal food and some sort of normal milk. Kids often outgrow dairy allergies and intolerances and there is also some discussion on whether she has only an intolerance or also an allergy so we are going to be trying a variety of options and see how things go. I am hoping we can eventually move to lactaid milk or dairy just because it has more calories and fat than any other option and that's what we want. For the time being, we are moving to Very Vanilla Soy Milk because it has more calories than any other non-dairy option that I could find. She is also used to a very sweet and sugary drink because Bright Beginnings is super sweet. However, that is one of the issues I have with it so we definitely consider the vanilla soy to be an interim step. I am really pleased that we are at the point where we can move to a non-physician-monitored life. To celebrate our good news and also because we were hungry, we got Taco Bell for everyone  (Jason was working from home) and went home to eat all together. True to form, Clara rejected the nacho cheese and most other parts of her meal except the ice.
