Today our advent activity was to put up our Christmas tree. We plan to decorate it later in the weekend. We had planned to buy a new tree this year, but Ron and Peg needed a larger tree since their house has really high ceilings so we are using their old one. It's nice because we aren't sure if we should get a 9 foot (which is really pretty big for our house and doesn't allow a tree topper, but is the size we have had the last several years) or a 7.5 foot (which is the size of this new one we got from them) tree, so we can now try out this size for a year or two before committing to a new tree. Since the tree was already assembled, it took less work than normal, which is probably good because Jason's three devoted helpers don't always allow for a lot of productivity.

After the tree was up, we celebrated with ginger snaps and egg nog. This was a huge hit with the kids and they called egg nog "Christmas Milk" and are now huge fans.
