Finally Riding Our Bikes

We had a really fun time biking in Florida so we decided we wanted to be able to do it at home too. It has been quite an undertaking to get all the equipment we needed. Firstly, Jason and I needed bikes, and we wanted to buy used, which requires some patience to get the right bike. Next, we needed a bike trailer for Hannah and possibly Clara, which we also got used. We also needed something for Joshua. At some point, he'll be able to ride on a tag-along bike, but since he is on the short side, he is too small for that this year. He is also too large for a bike trailer (not based on size, but he is too old to enjoy that). He liked the Weehoo in Florida, so we decided to get one. But Clara is also getting too old for the trailer so we decided to get a double Weehoo so they can both be in it. Then we needed helmets for Jason and I and Clara (since she will likely sometimes ride in the Weehoo). I do not want to ride on the road, so we also needed to be able to transport the bikes which involved getting a trailer hitch for my car and a bike rack for the hitch. It was quite a process to get all those things, but we finally got everything and had it assembled and in good working condition, so today was our inaugural bike ride. It was fun, though in the future we might use a different trail head that doesn't start with a massive hill. The kids also enjoyed it. Hopefully this can be a fun family activity we enjoy together for many years to come.
