Viva Las Vegas!

Today we spent the morning relaxing since last night we got into town very late. The kids were immediately thrilled with the desert landscape in Christine and Eric's backyard.

Later in the day, we took the kids to the strip. There isn't a great deal of things to do with kids in Vegas, but there is enough going on down there that it is exciting for them to look at. We started at the Bellagio where they had a fall garden exhibit.

Next we watched the fountain show. The kids thought the water was fireworks because it shot out so loud.

We walked the strip for a little bit. The kids were amazed by everything, though really the excellent view of airplanes and helicopters were probably their favorite things about the strip.

We ended up at Caesar's Palace, where they really enjoyed the fountains.

After that, we hurried back to Christine's house and changed so we could go on a date night with Christine and Eric and Michelle and Sam while my parents watched the kids. We ate at Olives at the Bellagio, which was nice because the view was fantastic since we got an outdoor table. The patio is right by the fountains and has a great view of the strip.

The food was good but not great, but it was really nice to catch up with my sisters and their husbands and experience the fountain show several times. Afterwards we got a drink, but soon we went home since none of us except Jason are night owls and the time difference was really impacting us. We had a really fun date night.
